My Printmaking Creative Process

I make every print by hand from start to finish. First, I carve the design into a linoleum block using sharp gouges — this cat took a good while to get right, especially the paws. When it’s ready, I use a brayer to roll a thin, even layer of ink across the block, and carefully lay a sheet of acid-free paper on top. Then I apply pressure — sometimes using a glass baren, sometimes a wooden spoon, sometimes a printing press. The final step is peeling back the paper to reveal the art. Magic! My hands are involved in every single step. Because of this, every print carries its own small variations — tiny imperfections that make it genuinely yours, not mass-produced.

Zen Yoga Cat Linocut Print Inspiration

Have you ever watched a cat settle into a sunbeam and thought — they really have it figured out? Cats are masters of stillness. They don’t overthink. They don’t check their phones. They simply exist, fully and completely, in whatever moment they’re in.

This print started as a joke between me and a friend who was struggling to meditate, and it became real, a funny gift he enjoyed a lot.

This print might live in a yoga studio corner. A home office that needs a laugh. A bedroom wall where someone glances at it in the morning and decides to take the day a little slower. Whatever space it lands in, I hope it brings a smile and maybe a deep breath.

Please note: product images are for orientation purposes only. Colours may differ slightly due to monitor calibration, and paper size or texture may vary slightly. As each print is hand-printed, slight variations and differences between individual prints are to be expected — these are part of the handmade character and what makes your print uniquely yours.
