My Printmaking Creative Process

I make every print by hand from start to finish. First, I carve the design into a linoleum block using sharp gouges — capturing Archie’s confident little strut and wagging tail took real patience to get just right. When the block is ready, I use a brayer to roll a thin, even layer of ink across it, and carefully lay a sheet of paper on top. Then I apply pressure to transfer the image. The final step is peeling back the paper to reveal the print. My hands are involved in every single step. Because of this, every print carries its own small variations — tiny imperfections that make it genuinely yours, not mass-produced.

Archie the Dachshund Linocut Print Inspiration

Archie struts like he owns the place. Short legs, long body, enormous confidence — there’s something irresistible about a dachshund on a mission.

I carved this print thinking about all the little dogs with big personalities — the ones who trot ahead on the lead as if they’re leading an expedition, tail up, nose forward, utterly unbothered by the world. Archie is that dog.

This print is a perfect gift for a dachshund owner, a dog lover, or anyone who appreciates the outsized charm of a very small dog. It brings warmth and a quiet smile to any wall it lands on.

Please note: product images are for orientation purposes only. Colours may differ slightly due to monitor calibration, and paper size or texture may vary slightly. As each print is hand-printed, slight variations and differences between individual prints are to be expected — these are part of the handmade character and what makes your print uniquely yours.
