Otters Linocut Print ‘Forever’ At a Glance:

An original linocut print of two otters touching paws — a tender nod to Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam, reimagined with the world’s most wholesome animals. A celebration of connection in all its forms: romantic, familial, or simply the bond between two people who choose each other.

  • Medium: Original linocut print, hand-carved and hand-printed.

  • Edition & Signature: Signed, titled, and numbered by hand in pencil.

  • Paper Size: A5 — 14.8 × 21 cm, acid-free, high-quality thick printmaking paper, chosen to look amazing & meant to last.

  • Artwork Size: 11 × 12 cm

  • Framing Tip: The A5 paper fits perfectly in a standard IKEA RIBBA frame (21 × 30 cm) — the mat creates a beautiful border around the print, no trimming needed, ready to hang straight away.

  • Shipping: Carefully packed in a rigid cardboard envelope, sent quickly, and arrives unframed.

My Printmaking Creative Process

I make every print by hand from start to finish. First, I carve the design into a linoleum block using sharp gouges — this can take hours or days. When it’s ready, I use a brayer to roll a thin, even layer of ink across the block, and carefully lay a sheet of acid-free paper on top. Then I apply pressure — sometimes using a glass baren, sometimes a wooden spoon, sometimes a printing press. The final step is peeling back the paper to reveal the art. Magic! My hands are involved in every single step. Because of this, every print carries its own small variations — tiny imperfections that make it genuinely yours, not mass-produced.

This print might live on a bedside table where a couple wakes up to it each morning. On a wall in a child’s room, where a parent hung it as a quiet reminder of how much they’re loved. Or maybe it’s a gift between two friends who’ve held each other up through everything — a small, lasting thing that says: “I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”

Otters Linocut Print Inspiration

Did you know otters hold paws while they sleep so they don’t drift apart? I carved this print thinking about that. About all the small ways we reach for the people we love. A hand on a shoulder. A text that says “are you okay?”. Two paws, touching.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a romance, a friendship, a family, or just two beings who found each other in the water and decided to stay close — this print is for that bond. “Forever” is what this print is called. And that’s exactly what it feels like.
