My Printmaking Creative Process

I make every print by hand from start to finish. First, I carve the design into a linoleum block using sharp gouges — the folk-art style demands clean, confident lines, and the sheep’s woolly texture took particular care to render in relief. When the block is ready, I use a brayer to roll a thin, even layer of ink across it and carefully lay a sheet of acid-free paper on top. Then I apply pressure to transfer the image. The final step is peeling back the paper to reveal the print. My hands are involved in every single step. Because of this, every print carries its own small variations — tiny imperfections that make it genuinely yours, not mass-produced.
